The XIII edition of the Platino Awards, which celebrates the best of cinema, television, and streaming from Ibero-America, has announced its hosts: Colombian actor Carlos Torres and Spanish actress Cayetana Guillén Cuervo. The event will take place at the Gran Tlachco Theater in Xcaret, located in Mexico's Riviera Maya. This prestigious award aims to honor the significant contributions of Ibero-American artists to the global entertainment industry.
Carlos Torres is noted for his roles in internationally recognized Colombian productions such as "La Reina del Flow" and the sequel to "Pedro el escamoso." His dynamic presence and experience in the industry makes him a fitting choice for this celebration of creativity and talent. On the other hand, Cayetana Guillén Cuervo boasts a four-decade-long career in the Spanish audiovisual scene, known for her participation in acclaimed films like "Todo sobre mi madre" directed by Pedro Almodóvar, as well as hit series like "Paquita Salas" and "Machos Alfa." She also served as the president of the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain from 2022 to 2025, underscoring her significance within the industry.
The pair will succeed the previous hosts, Aislinn Derbez and Asier Etxeandía, who led the ceremony in the past.
