The EU and Mercosur reach a historic agreement after 25 years of negotiations, with the European agri-food sector divided

The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will travel to Asunción, Paraguay, to finalize a long-awaited trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur, concluding 25 years of stalled negotiations and creating the largest free trade area in the world with over 740 million people.
