A school monitor in Brazil was suspended following allegations of slapping an eight-year-old girl on a school bus.
In General Salgado, SΓ£o Paulo, a school monitor has been temporarily removed from her position after being accused of slapping an eight-year-old girl on a school bus. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 10, while the victim was returning home from the Municipal School Azilio Antonio do Prado, accompanied by other children. After the incident, the girl reported the assault to her mother, leading to a police report being filed.
The Municipal Education Department has stated that the monitor's removal is a precautionary measure pending the completion of the investigation into the incident. The local authorities expressed their condemnation of any form of violence within schools, highlighting the importance of maintaining a safe environment for children. In addition to the slap, the child also reported that the monitor instructed her to "shut up," indicating a distressing situation onboard the bus.
Following the report, the mother sought medical attention for her daughter at Santa Casa, where the child was treated and subsequently released. This troubling incident raises concerns over the safety and treatment of children in educational transportation and underscores the need for strict protocols and monitoring of staff interacting with students.
