American basketball player M. Lewis has officially joined the Lithuanian team Juventus, signing a contract that will keep him with the club until the conclusion of the 2025/2026 season. Previously, Lewis played in Turkey for the Bursa Tofas club, where he averaged 5.2 points per game in the Turkish league over approximately 13 minutes of play per game. He also showed good shooting efficiency, hitting 53% of his three-point attempts and 91% from the free-throw line, while contributing 2.5 rebounds and a total of 6.7 efficiency points.
During his time in the FIBA Champions League, Lewis provided similar averages, with 5.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 6.8 efficiency points across about 16 minutes of gameplay. The management of Juventus has expressed enthusiasm for Lewis's potential, emphasizing that finding the right player to strengthen the team took considerable time. Eimantas Skersis, Juventus’s director, believes that Lewis has impressive potential on both offense and defense, and that although he faced challenges in Turkey, his NBA draft pedigree indicates he has significant talent that will contribute positively to the team as they head into critical end-of-season matchups.
This signing also reflects Juventus's strategy to enhance their roster with players who they believe can make an immediate impact. As the team gears up for the remainder of the season, Lewis's addition could be pivotal in boosting the team's competitiveness and addressing gaps in performance, potentially leading to a stronger showing in domestic and European competitions.
