Another success for Czech biathlon. Three men finished in the top twenty, Hornig shined

Czech biathlete Vítězslav Hornig achieved a shared ninth place in today's World Cup sprint in Otepää, matching his best result for the season.

In an impressive display at the World Cup sprint event in Otepää, Czech biathlete Vítězslav Hornig secured a shared ninth place, demonstrating excellent shooting accuracy and race strategy. This marks a significant milestone in his season, especially following a brief illness that sidelined him from two earlier races in Kontiolahti. Accompanying Hornig's success, Michal Krčmář also performed outstandingly, achieving a shared sixteenth position while showcasing a flawless shooting performance.

The race was dominated by Norwegian Sturla Holm Laegreid, who took first place, followed by French Émilien Jacquelin and German Philipp Nawrath who rounded out the top three. Hornig's performance highlights a growing competitiveness within the Czech biathlon team, as he joins two other compatriots who also finished within the top twenty, reinforcing the strength of Czech athletes in international biathlon events.

With his best career result still being fifth place from last year's individual race in Ruhpolding, Hornig's consistent improvement, particularly this season, indicates a promising trajectory. He expressed satisfaction with his race, noting effective pace management and a confident assessment of his shooting performance, which could bode well for his upcoming competitions as he aims for further podium finishes in the World Cup series.
