An international jury of 86 leading female automotive journalists from over 50 countries recognized the LEAF for its simple user interface, extended driving range, and affordable pricing. These factors contributed to its selection as the top overall winner among the various categories awarded by the WWCOTY organization.

In addition to the grand prize for the LEAF, several other categories were highlighted, showcasing the diversity of automobile choices in the market. The awards included Best Compact Car for the Nissan LEAF, Best Compact SUV for the Škoda Elroq, Best Large Car for the Mercedes-Benz CLA, Best Large SUV for the Hyundai Ioniq 9, Best 4x4 for the Toyota 4Runner, and Best Sports Car for the Lamborghini Temerario.
