Yair 'N', leader and trafficker of methamphetamine in Colima, arrested; 270 kilos of fentanyl seized
Yair 'N', a suspected leader of a criminal cell in Colima, was arrested along with six others, and authorities seized 270 kilograms of fentanyl during the operation.
Yair 'N', identified as the leader of a criminal faction involved in the sale and trafficking of fentanyl and methamphetamine, was apprehended by law enforcement agents in Villa de Álvarez, Colima. Six other individuals were also arrested during the operation, indicating a concerted effort by the Security Cabinet in Mexico.
The operation led to the seizure of over 270 kilograms of fentanyl, in both powder and pill form, which authorities estimate could have provided approximately 14 million individual doses. This significant discovery has been hailed as a preventative measure against drug distribution on the streets, addressing the ongoing issues concerning drug trafficking in the region.
In addition to the arrest of Yair 'N' and the confiscation of fentanyl, law enforcement officials uncovered two properties used for the storage of narcotics. This operation underscores the Mexican government's intensified efforts to combat drug-related crime and disrupt networks that perpetuate the drug crisis, particularly relating to potent substances like fentanyl.
