Federal Police seizes electronic cigarettes in operation in the interior of SP and MS

Federal Police in Brazil seized a large number of electronic cigarettes during an operation aimed at combating illegal trade in Santa Fé do Sul and Paranaíba.

The Federal Police in Jales, São Paulo, conducted an operation against the illegal trade of electronic cigarettes on the morning of Thursday, October 12. Known as Operation HIT, the police executed four search and seizure warrants issued by the Federal Court of São José do Rio Preto, focusing on commercial establishments and residential areas. The operation resulted in significant seizures of electronic smoking devices, including vapes and pods, along with the corresponding liquids used in these devices.

The operation targeted three locations in Santa Fé do Sul, which included two commercial establishments and one residential address, while the fourth warrant was executed in Paranaíba, Mato Grosso do Sul, also in a residential property. This crackdown reflects ongoing efforts by federal authorities to address the growing concerns surrounding the illegal market of electronic cigarettes, which has been increasingly prevalent across Brazil.

With the rise of vaping, authorities are particularly vigilant about the health implications and legalities involved in the distribution and sale of these products. The seizure not only aims to deter illegal activities but also to ensure compliance with public health regulations. These actions are part of broader law enforcement initiatives to control substances that pose risks to health and well-being, shedding light on the ongoing challenges faced by regulators in this evolving market.
