Israel threatens to occupy parts of Lebanese territory

Israel's defense minister warns that the military will occupy parts of Lebanese territory if the Lebanese government fails to stop Hezbollah's attacks on Israeli cities.

Israel's Defense Minister, Israels Kac, announced that the country intends to expand its military operations and occupy parts of Lebanese territory if the Lebanese government does not compel the Hezbollah militia to halt its assaults on Israeli cities. During a meeting with top military and intelligence officials, Kac emphasized that the Israeli military would 'take control of the territory and take matters into its own hands.' This warning has already been communicated to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

In coordination with this statement, it has been reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Kac have instructed the military to prepare to expand operations in Lebanon. Hezbollah has actively participated in the Iran conflict by attacking Israel in early March, indicating its role in supporting Tehran. The recent escalation of conflict has already led Israel to gain new territories in southern Lebanon, and it has expressed its intention to establish a buffer zone to secure its borders against potential threats.

On Wednesday night, Hezbollah launched a massive barrage of rockets and drones targeting Israel, showcasing the heightened tensions and ongoing hostilities between the two sides. The situation underscores the precarious balance of power in the region and raises concerns about a potential wider conflict involving Iran, Hezbollah, and Israel if diplomatic efforts fail to de-escalate the situation.
