The Biathlon Festival in Otepää begins today with the men's 10 km sprint, featuring 105 athletes including four from Estonia.
Today at 16:00, ETV and ERR's sports portal will broadcast live from the Biathlon World Cup event in Otepää, starting with the men's 10 km sprint. The event will be commented on by Ivar Lepik and Margus Ader, with Tarmo Tiisler hosting the studio show. Among the 105 participants are four Estonian athletes: Kristo Siimer, Rene Zahkna, Mark-Markos Kehva, and Jakob Kulbin, competing against top competitors in the field.
Leading the competition is French athlete Eric Perrot, who is currently the overall leader in the World Cup standings with 999 points, followed by Sweden's Sebastian Samuelsson with 723 points and Norway's Johan-Olav Botn with 707 points. The spotlight is on these top competitors as they vie for a prominent position in today’s sprint race. Four years ago, at the first World Cup stage held in Otepää, the podium included Quentin Fillon Maillet, Sturla Holm Lægreid, and Benedikt Doll, setting a high standard for the event.
