King Harald is back at work after the holiday

King Harald of Norway has returned to royal duties after a holiday, meeting with ambassadors and participating in official events at the royal palace.

King Harald of Norway resumed his royal responsibilities on Thursday after recently returning from a holiday in Tenerife, where he celebrated his 89th birthday. During the visit, he faced health complications, requiring hospitalization for an infection and dehydration. Nonetheless, he was able to manage his duties and received the foreign councilor Torgeir Larsen along with other notable ambassadors at the royal palace, including representatives from the Republic of Congo, Andorra, and Montenegro.

On the same day, King Harald also prepared for an upcoming council meeting with government members and various audience engagements. This week marks an important return for the king as his activities ramp up, culminating in participation at the Holmenkollen ski festival with Queen Sonja and Crown Prince Haakon over the weekend. His reappearance comes during a period he was somewhat absent from public engagements due to health concerns.

The recent absence provided Crown Prince Haakon the opportunity to serve as regent, showing a seamless transition of duties within the royal family. The king's quick recovery and return to work are expected to reassure the public and strengthen the ties between the monarchy and government, especially as Norway continues to navigate its current political landscape.
