Phantom Fireworks executives used their database to trace purchases by a terror suspect after a similar approach helped identify the Boston Marathon bombers.
In the wake of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, executives at Phantom Fireworks took proactive measures to assist law enforcement by searching their sales records for the Tsarnaev brothers, ultimately discovering that one of them had purchased fireworks. This initiative has since become a standard practice within the company whenever there are suspected connections to explosives or fireworks in terror cases. Recently, during the investigation of a New York City terror suspect, they applied the same strategy.
