According to the military police, the incident involved assailants who were specifically searching for a man allegedly connected to drug trafficking in the region. Eyewitnesses reported that gunmen fired shots from a vehicle before assaulting the intended target's residence.

The shooting unfolded around 4:20 PM when the gunmen, occupants of a car, began shooting at individuals gathered outside their homes. After the initial gunfire, they turned around and approached on foot towards the house of the suspected drug dealer, continuing to shoot. Among the victims was a 47-year-old woman, the mother of the drug dealer who was targeted, highlighting the tragic collateral damage of such violent crime sprees.
