The Civil Guard confirms that the skeletal remains found on Wednesday belong to Francisca Cadenas

The Civil Guard has confirmed that skeletal remains found in Hornachos belong to the missing Francisca Cadenas, with investigations ongoing.

The Civil Guard has officially confirmed that the skeletal remains discovered on Wednesday in a residence in Hornachos, Badajoz, are those of Francisca Cadenas, who had been missing since May 2017. This confirmation comes through biological analysis, aligning with the hypotheses proposed by the investigation team. The local authorities had been searching for leads regarding Cadenas’s disappearance for several years, which now appears to have progressed significantly following the recent discovery.

Continuing their investigation, the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard is actively conducting searches in the small town of Hornachos, which has a population of 3,375. They are looking for additional evidence related to the case surrounding Cadenas's disappearance, focusing particularly on the circumstances that led to the skeletal remains being found in the backyard of two neighbors' home. The announcement was made by the government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis.

This development raises further questions regarding the case, particularly concerning the people involved and the sequence of events that led to her reported disappearance. The investigation’s continued progress may shed light on the circumstances surrounding her case and provide closure to the family and the community affected by her disappearance nearly six years ago.
