Former P3 Talent Prize Winner Inaugurates the New Orange Scene

Danish singer Pil will inaugurate the newly built Orange Scene at the Roskilde Festival, a venue that has been central to the festival since 1978.

As the audience departed from the Roskilde Festival last summer, it also marked a farewell to the Orange Scene in its version that had been in place since 2001. The Orange Scene has been a central hub for the festival since its inception in 1978, undergoing several renovations. The new version of the Orange Scene is set to be inaugurated in 2026 by the pop singer Pil, who made her mark on the Danish music scene with her debut EP 'NΓ₯r Du GΓ₯r Herfra' in 2019.

In the years since, Pil has continued to rise in prominence, winning the talent project Karrierekanonen in 2021 and most recently the P3 Talent Prize during the annual P3 Guld music awards in October 2023. The Orange Scene has a rich history of being opened by notable artists, including Annika, Lamin, Blæst, and Drew Sycamore, establishing a tradition of showcasing emerging talent at the festival.

This year's Roskilde Festival is scheduled to take place from June 27 to July 4, 2024, and Pil's inaugural concert on the new Orange Scene is set for Wednesday, July 1. This event signals not just a personal milestone for Pil, but also a pivotal moment for the festival as it embraces its evolving legacy and commitment to supporting new artists in the music industry.
