A change in the weather is coming: cold, rain, and even snow. It will start on the weekend
A shift in weather patterns in Poland will bring cooler temperatures, rain, and possible snowfall over the weekend, despite the recent warmth.
Poland has experienced unusually warm temperatures and sunny days at the beginning of March, but official forecasts indicate that winter is making a return. Cooler conditions are expected, with the possibility of rain mixed with snow as a notable change in weather patterns begins this weekend. While a drastic drop in temperature is not anticipated, the shift signifies the end of the mild spell residents have grown accustomed to recently.
In the short term, the forecast for Thursday and Friday shows varied weather, with rain primarily expected on Thursday across many parts of Poland. While showers are expected to be intermittent, much of the country will experience overcast conditions, with some sunny breaks in the southeastern and northwestern regions. On the other hand, snow mixed with rain is forecasted for the higher altitudes of the Tatra Mountains, and temperatures will remain relatively warm, ranging from 10 degrees Celsius by the coast to a maximum of 17 degrees in the Podkarpacie region during the day. Nighttime temperatures, however, are not expected to drop to freezing levels.
As for Friday, a brief return of sunnier weather is expected, dominating almost the entire country with clear skies and minimal cloud cover. Any potential cloudiness is mainly anticipated in the northeastern part of Poland, allowing for a slight respite before the colder temperatures and precipitation settle in over the weekend. This change represents a significant shift back to more typical winter weather conditions during a time that typically hints at the onset of spring in Poland, reminding residents of the unpredictable nature of the climate.
