The Decline in the Automotive Sector Continued Last Year - Wetteri's Result Marginally Positive Due to Sales of Maintenance Operations
Wetteri Oyj, a growth company in the automotive sector headquartered in Oulu, Finland, experienced a challenging 2025 with a slight profit mainly from maintenance operations sales despite a drop in revenue from the previous year.
Wetteri Oyj, an automotive growth company based in Oulu, reported a challenging year in 2025, with revenues declining by 3% to €434.1 million from €447.3 million the previous year. CEO Pietu Parikka highlighted ongoing difficulties in the automotive market, attributing these challenges to weak consumer confidence and economic uncertainty. The company's adjusted EBITDA also fell significantly, reflecting the tough market conditions.
Despite the revenue dip, Wetteri managed to achieve a net profit of €4.3 million, largely due to the sales of Wetteri Power Oy in January 2025 and maintenance services in Kajaani and Joensuu in October 2025. However, the last quarter of the year was particularly tough, resulting in losses, even though overall revenue showed a slight increase of 1% in this period at €102.4 million.
The downturn in the automotive sector poses potential long-term challenges for Wetteri and similar companies in Finland, as ongoing economic uncertainties and diminishing consumer confidence may hinder recovery efforts in the upcoming year. This situation underscores the need for strategic adaptations to navigate these difficult market conditions and restore growth in future operations.
