Announced water cuts in GAM and Azcapotzalco: Which areas will be affected and how to request water tankers in CDMX?

Water supply will be interrupted in the Gustavo A. Madero and Azcapotzalco areas of Mexico City due to maintenance work from March 12 to March 14, 2023.

The Mexico City government has announced that there will be water supply interruptions in the Gustavo A. Madero (GAM) and Azcapotzalco areas starting from March 12, 2023, due to essential maintenance work carried out by the Secretaría de Gestión Integral del Agua (Segiagua). The maintenance activities will take place mainly on Miguel Othón de Mendizábal Oriente Avenue and Central Avenue in the Nueva Industrial Vallejo neighborhood. Residents are advised to prepare accordingly, as the supply cut will disrupt their access to potable water during this period.

Officials stated that the interruption in water supply will commence at 10:00 AM on March 12 and is expected to last until March 14. However, they anticipate that the water supply will begin to return to normal gradually starting at 11:00 AM on March 13, once the maintenance work has been completed. This initiative aims to ensure the long-term reliability and quality of water services in these neighborhoods, but it poses challenges for many residents who depend on a consistent supply of water for their daily activities.

The city authorities have provided information on how residents can request water tankers to mitigate the effects of this planned disruption. While these measures are meant to alleviate immediate shortages, the maintenance work is critical for improving the overall water infrastructure in Mexico City, an area that frequently experiences water supply issues. Residents are encouraged to remain informed and take the necessary precautions to manage the upcoming water cuts.
