Worrying information about the war in Iran and Finnish companies โ€“ Affects over half

Over half of Finnish export companies are preparing for disruptions due to the war situation in Iran, according to a recent survey by trade chambers.

A recent survey from Finland's trade chambers reveals that over half of the country's export companies are bracing for potential disruptions linked to the ongoing conflict in Iran. Specifically, 56 percent of the surveyed export companies noted that the situation in the Persian Gulf is affecting their operations. Nonetheless, a majority of these companies, about 53 percent, predict that any disruption will be short-lived, while only 18 percent expect long-term impact.

The primary ramifications of the situation are seen in delivery times, transportation routes, and logistics costs, which are subject to change due to the geopolitical tensions. Despite rising insurance costs, there has not yet been significant concern among the companies regarding their implications. This presents a paradox, where companies seem to acknowledge the immediate risks yet remain hopeful for a quick recovery and minimal long-term impact on their operations.

However, the overall uncertainty within the international business environment has noticeably heightened. Companies face increased operational risks and challenges when it comes to long-term planning. Given that predictability is crucial for business operations, the current volatility is prompting firms to reassess their risk management strategies as they navigate this fluid situation.
