Cooling Will Divide the Republic, It Will Be Cooler in Bohemia Than in Moravia and Silesia

The Czech Republic is set to experience a temperature drop this weekend, particularly affecting Bohemia where temperatures may reach as low as 5 degrees Celsius.

The Czech Republic is bracing for a cold front that will bring significant temperature drops starting this weekend. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute has reported that while Moravia and Silesia may see temperatures ranging from 11 to 15 degrees Celsius, Bohemia will face daily highs of only 5 to 10 degrees Celsius. Additionally, in higher elevations of Bohemia, particularly altitudes above 700 meters, snowfall is expected.

Friday will start relatively clear or partially cloudy, with only Moravia and Silesia experiencing cloudiness and possible morning fog. As Saturday approaches, cloud cover will increase, with afternoon showers anticipated, and in western Bohemia, these showers could turn into snow. Temperatures will dip significantly overnight, making for a chilly start to both Saturday and Sunday.

By Sunday, a stark temperature difference will be evident, with Bohemia being considerably cooler than its eastern counterparts. As precipitation increases, residents in the affected regions should prepare not only for rain but possible early-season snow at higher elevations. This weather shift highlights the varied climatic conditions within the Czech Republic, prompting considerable interest from meteorologists and the public alike.
