An evangelical church pastor in Barcelona reported for sexual assault on a minor

A pastor of an evangelical church in Barcelona has been reported for sexually assaulting a minor over a three-year period.

In a troubling case from Barcelona, Radill G., a pastor at the Evangelical Church Hechos, has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor who was just 13 years old at the time the abuses began. According to the complaint, the pastor manipulated the victim by claiming that the acts were 'signs of affection' and that he loved her, using religious context to groom her. The abuses reportedly continued until 2021, culminating in a particularly violent incident which led the victim to cease all contact with the pastor and leave the church.

The victim, now 21 years old, recounted that the abuse began in 2018 and spanned several years, during which she was coerced into believing the pastor's advances were benevolent and part of guidance in her spiritual development. The last episode described in the report was alarmingly violent and took place in the early morning hours at the church when no one else was present. This incident has raised significant concerns regarding the safety of minors in religious settings and the potential for such abuses to persist under the guise of spiritual mentorship.

The implications of this case extend beyond mere individual acts of violence, highlighting concerning patterns within some religious institutions where power dynamics may enable abusive behaviors. It underscores a critical need for protective measures for vulnerable individuals in such environments, as well as accountability for those who exploit their positions of trust. Authorities are likely to face mounting pressure to investigate such claims thoroughly and enforce stricter regulations for religious entities to safeguard victims and prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future.
