South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok is visiting the US and Switzerland to negotiate hosting a UN AI Hub.

Prime Minister Kim Min-seok of South Korea is set to visit the United States and Switzerland from December 12 to 19 in a strategic effort to establish a UN AI Hub in South Korea. The visit, as announced by the Prime Minister's Office, will involve discussions with international organizations in key cities including Washington, New York, and Geneva. This initiative was formally supported by the South Korean government during a recent meeting focused on attracting the UN AI Hub, highlighting its importance to national policy.

During his visit to the US, Prime Minister Kim will meet with leaders from the United Nations, including UNICEF and UNDP, as well as participate in discussions about future collaborations with these agencies. In Switzerland, he will engage with key figures from the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). These meetings are aimed at solidifying partnerships that could enhance South Korea's position as a leader in artificial intelligence at an international level.

In addition to the discussions centered around the AI Hub, Prime Minister Kim is also expected to meet with high-ranking US officials, particularly in light of a significant US investment law aimed at facilitating $350 billion in investments. This legislation, which is anticipated to pass on December 12 during a session of the National Assembly, will likely be a topic of discussion during his meetings, with potential engagements with key figures such as Vice President J.D. Vance anticipated to further strengthen bilateral relations between South Korea and the United States.
