Ewanderson João da Silva, 37, has been sentenced to 26 years and 8 months in prison for the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend, Simone Cosme Menezes, who was 42, inside the non-profit organization where she was employed. The violent act occurred in January 2025 in the Sucupira neighborhood of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, close to Recife. His trial took place at the Fórum Desembargador Henrique Capitulino, where he was found guilty of femicide after a jury deliberation that lasted several hours, reflecting the severity of violence against women in the region.
