After two months of work, all branches of the Mitre Train return to Retiro station
The Mitre Train services will resume at Retiro station from March 12 after two months of signaling work and successful operational tests.
Trenes Argentinos has announced that all branches of the Mitre Train will resume service to Retiro station starting March 12, following the completion of signaling work and a series of operational tests. The branches affected are Tigre, José León Suárez, and Bartolomé Mitre. The operational trials were completed in less time than expected, yielding satisfactory results that ensure optimal circulation conditions.
The final testing involved running trains without passengers to verify the proper functioning of the new signaling system, which was a crucial step before the scheduled resumption of service. Although the services were originally planned to resume the previous Sunday, the company had to delay the announcement until the tests were successfully passed, highlighting the importance of safety and reliability in public transport operations.
The signaling system upgrade was carried out by Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura as part of a broader emergency plan. This upgrade not only enhances safety for travelers but also modernizes the railway network, ensuring that the infrastructure can handle growing passenger numbers efficiently. This development is expected to improve travel times and reliability, benefiting daily commuters and reinforcing the importance of public transportation in urban mobility.
