Grand Designer of 2025 is Krejčiřík. Eva Eisler entered the Hall of Fame

Jiří Krejčiřík won the Grand Design Award for 2025 for his lighting collections and music furniture, while Eva Eisler was inducted into the Hall of Fame during the Czech Grand Design Awards ceremony.

At the Czech Grand Design Awards ceremony held in Prague's Stavovské divadlo, Jiří Krejčiřík emerged as the main winner for 2025, receiving accolades for his unique collections of lighting and musical furniture. This prestigious event, celebrating its 20th anniversary, saw a total of 11 awards presented by the Academy of Design of the Czech Republic, composed of journalists, curators, and art historians. Each award took the form of a signet ring designed by last year's winner, fashion designer Jan Černý, highlighting the significance of craftsmanship in design.

Krejčiřík’s innovative designs were particularly noted for their artistic quality, as emphasized by jury member Michaela Kádnerová, who highlighted their status in the collectible design category. Krejčiřík has made a notable impact since his debut in 2019, having been a finalist three times, but this marks his first major victory. His creations, with a fresh and unique approach to design, are now considered valuable in the context of Czech design and art alike.

Alongside Krejčiřík, Eva Eisler was honored with induction into the Hall of Fame, marking her significant contributions as a designer, architect, and educator. This recognition reinforces the importance of mentorship and innovation in the Czech design landscape, inspiring future generations and emphasizing the rich cultural heritage that these awards celebrate in the country.
