Avicii's ex-manager initiated legal action - A new twist

Avicii's former manager Arash 'Ash' Pournouri's lawsuit against companies owned by the Avicii family has been dismissed by a Swedish district court.

Arash 'Ash' Pournouri, the ex-manager of Swedish DJ Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling, initiated legal action against companies owned by the family of the late musician, claiming he wanted to rectify what he described as erroneous public narratives about him. Pournouri's decision to take legal steps came after a documentary released in 2017, 'Avicii: True Stories,' featured statements from Bergling indicating that Pournouri had pressured him to continue performing despite serious health concerns, which eventually led to Avicii's withdrawal from touring in 2016.

In a post on Instagram, Pournouri expressed his desire to correct what he sees as inaccurate and incomplete portrayals in the media regarding his relationship with Avicii and the circumstances surrounding the artist's struggles. His efforts to seek legal recourse, however, have been met with setbacks as the Swedish district court has dismissed his lawsuit, concluding that Pournouri's claim did not meet the legal requirements needed for such actions.

The attorney representing the companies sued by Pournouri, Thomas Olsson, confirmed to Aftonbladet that the lawsuit was not examined, indicating that it failed to adhere to necessary legal standards. This legal development potentially closes a chapter on what has been a contentious relationship between Pournouri and the narratives surrounding Avicii’s life and career, highlighting the complexities involved in the legacy of artists and their representatives as public perceptions continue to evolve.
