Ariane Rodrigues brings funk and jazz on flute in her first album, 'Transversa'
Flutist Ariane Rodrigues releases her debut solo album 'Transversa', blending flute with jazz elements.
Ariane Rodrigues, a trained flutist from the Tatuí Conservatory and member of the Banda de Pífanos de Caruaru and Brazú Quintê, is set to launch her first solo album titled 'Transversa' on March 20. This album promises to showcase her innovative approach to music by incorporating the transverse flute into the jazz genre. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Adonias Júnior at Estúdio Arsis in São Paulo, the album reflects her artistic journey and commitment to integrating various musical styles.
The album features seven original tracks including 'Funk transverso', 'Hermínia', 'Que a chuva traz', and 'Sono bom', demonstrating Rodrigues' versatility as a musician. A notable inclusion is 'Montreux', a composition by renowned musician Hermeto Pascoal, originally presented in 1979 during a live performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. This blend of original and cover songs allows Rodrigues to showcase her own compositions alongside the legacy of significant Brazilian jazz influences.
Rodrigues leads a quartet for this project, which highlights her leadership and collaborative skills in music. The release of 'Transversa' marks a significant milestone in her career, promising to resonate with both jazz enthusiasts and a broader audience interested in innovative flute compositions that bridge funk and jazz traditions.
