One of the sides of the "nuclear triangle".. Are US special operations taking place in Isfahan?

Isfahan, Iran, is under scrutiny concerning potential US military operations due to repeated attacks targeting its key military and nuclear facilities.

Isfahan, located in central Iran, has become a focal point of military analysis following a series of attacks that have targeted key sites such as the Khatam al-Anbiya Airbase, the international airport, and a nuclear research center. Notably, attacks have also hit the Ahmad Kazemi Airbase and the Hesa Airbase, as well as the Isfahan optical industries plant, evidenced by satellite images from the company 'Vantour'. This trend raises significant questions about why Isfahan has been specifically chosen as a target amidst broader geopolitical tensions in the region.

Military expert Brigadier General Elias Hanna argues that Isfahan's importance extends beyond it being merely a military base; it is a strategic city crucial to Iran's nuclear capabilities. In Isfahan, the "yellowcake" is processed into gas that is sent to enrichment centers in Natanz and Fordow, making it a key component of Iran's nuclear triangle — a sensitive area pivotal to the country’s nuclear enrichment processes. Such activities place Isfahan at the center of international concerns regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions and potential proliferation risks.

The logistics of launching an operation against Isfahan are complex, according to Hanna. The city is situated 450 kilometers from the Iraqi border and 700 kilometers from the Azerbaijani border, making any ground assault or precision operation a daunting challenge. This geographical context complicates potential military actions, and underscores the risks involved in any escalatory measures against Iran’s nuclear facilities.
