A hopper designed for the United States that has now arrived in Argentine fields

Akron has unveiled its new self-emptying hopper, originally designed for the North American market, at Expoagro 2026, marking its entry into Argentine agriculture.

At the recent Expoagro 2026 event, Akron, a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, introduced its latest innovation, the self-emptying hopper GCX 1310 AmΓ©rica. Although originally designed to meet the demanding standards of markets in the United States and Canada, this new equipment has begun to make its way into agricultural fields across Argentina. Featuring advanced technology and robust specifications, the hopper is adapted to serve the needs of local farmers while reflecting a growing trend in agricultural mechanization in the region.

The GCX 1310 AmΓ©rica boasts impressive specifications, including a capacity of 38 tons or 47,000 liters, and can discharge grains at a rate of up to 20,000 kg per minute. Other features include a configurable hydraulic spout, high-floatation tires, and a safety-accessible internal platform. Alberto Gaviglio, president and founder of Akron, highlighted that this project had been in development for a long time, pointing out the company's history of serving the export market since 2003, particularly in North America and Australia, which underlines its experience in producing high-quality agricultural machinery.

This introduction is significant as it showcases how international agricultural technology can be adapted and utilized in Argentina, potentially enhancing productivity in local farming practices. With an increasing focus on innovation in agriculture, the presence of such machinery signifies a shift towards more efficient and sustainable farming solutions, which could greatly benefit Argentine farmers seeking to maximize their yield and operations.
