LPF Play: how to download the AFA app to watch matches on your phone
The Argentine Football Association has launched LPF Play, a new platform to stream football matches across different divisions, excluding the Primera Division due to existing broadcasting contracts.
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has officially introduced LPF Play (La PasiΓ³n del FΓΊtbol), a digital platform dedicated to streaming football matches from all divisions except for the Liga Profesional, which remains under contract with ESPN and TNT Sports until 2030. This new initiative aims to enhance the accessibility of football in Argentina, catering to fans eager to follow their favorite teams from various lower divisions.
As part of the initial offering, matches from the Ascenso division will be available without registration during the first two rounds of each tournament, allowing a broader audience to experience the new service. Beginning with the third matchday, users will need to create an account, although the service will remain temporarily free. After three months, however, matches from the Primera Nacional and Primera B Metropolitana will transition to a subscription model, reflecting a move towards monetization of the platform while expanding its content.
