A 19-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car on Erdinger Street in Berglern.
A 19-year-old woman from the Freising district suffered moderate injuries in a motorcycle accident on Erdinger Street in Berglern on Tuesday evening. According to the Erding police inspection, the collision occurred when a 68-year-old driver from the northern part of the Erding district failed to see the motorcyclist while attempting to turn left onto Erdinger Street. The motorcycle had the right of way at the time.
The accident happened at around 6:30 PM when the older driver was turning from Wartenberger Street into Erdinger Street. She reportedly noticed the motorbike too late, leading to the young woman being thrown over the car's hood during the impact. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was airlifted to the Großhadern clinic for treatment.
The police estimated the material damages as approximately 8,500 euros. This incident raises questions about driver awareness and highlights the risks faced by motorcyclists on the roads, particularly in busy intersections where visibility may be compromised.
