Caught explosions on video: "Adrenaline"
A Swedish man captured several drone attacks resulting in explosions at a gas terminal in Salalah, Oman, on video during his free day.
A Swedish national in Oman managed to film a series of explosions that occurred at a gas terminal in Salalah on his day off, as three drones struck fuel tanks in quick succession. He described the scene, noting that he and his companions were near a pool when they heard the explosions and saw another drone approaching just before the impact. The video he recorded shows significant fire and explosions, with the third blast occurring during their evacuation from the area.
The incident has been corroborated by Ambrey, a British maritime security firm, which confirmed that the fuel tanks at the port were indeed hit by the drone strikes. Earlier in the day, Oman's state news agency reported that the country’s air defense forces had successfully intercepted several Iranian drones that were in the vicinity, pointing to a possible escalation in tensions linked to drone warfare in the region.
This event highlights the increasing use of drones in conflict zones and raises concerns about maritime safety and security in strategic locations like Oman’s ports, which are crucial for international shipping. As geopolitical tensions escalate in the Middle East, this incident could potentially impact international maritime operations and diplomatic relationships in the region.
