Finland's richest person rises rapidly on the world's wealthiest list

Finland's richest person, Antti Herlin, has seen a significant increase in his wealth, placing him 891st on Forbes' list of the world's wealthiest individuals with a net worth of $4.8 billion.

According to the economic media Forbes, Antti Herlin, the main owner of Kone, has topped the list as Finland's richest person. Forbes published its annual ranking of the world’s richest individuals on Tuesday, revealing Herlin’s estimated net worth of $4.8 billion (over €4.1 billion). This represents a notable increase in his ranking, climbing from 979th place last year when he had a fortune of $3.7 billion (around €3.2 billion).

Following Herlin is Mika Anttonen, the major shareholder of the St1 fuel company, who retains his status as Finland’s second richest person with a net worth of $2.4 billion (about €2.1 billion). In third place is Heikki Kyöstilä, founder and CEO of dental technology company Planmeca, valued at $2.3 billion (approximately €1.98 billion). Such rankings highlight substantial growth in wealth among Finland’s affluent and underscore the competitive dynamics within the business sector in the country.
