VOTING ⟩ Aleksandr Selevko and Svetlana Varnavskaja are nominated for prestigious awards

Figure skater Aleksandr Selevko and his coach Svetlana Varnavskaja have been nominated for international skating union (ISU) awards following their successful performances.

Aleksandr Selevko, a figure skater who represented Estonia at the Winter Olympics, has been nominated for the International Skating Union (ISU) awards for his outstanding performances this season. Selevko, who finished 16th in the men's singles event at the Olympics, achieved the best result for Estonian male figure skaters in history. He is nominated in two categories: Best Costume and Most Entertaining Program, based on his short program performance set to Prince's song "Kiss."

Alongside Selevko, Svetlana Varnavskaja, who is the coach of reigning European champion Niina Petrõkina, has been nominated for Best Coach. Under Varnavskaja's guidance, Petrõkina secured her second consecutive European title and also finished in 7th place in the women's singles event at the Olympics. The recognition highlights the achievements of both the athlete and coach in the competitive world of figure skating.

The ISU awards feature four main categories, including those mentioned previously, and also include awards for Best Choreographer, a Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Best Newcomer. Voting for the awards is open to the public until March 18, with results expected to reflect popular opinion in the skating community.
