Mojtaba Khamenei was hurt in strike that killed his father, Iran’s Cyprus ambassador confirms
Mojtaba Khamenei, the newly appointed supreme leader of Iran, sustained injuries in an attack that also claimed the life of his father and several family members, as confirmed by Iran's ambassador to Cyprus.
In a recent interview, Iran’s ambassador to Cyprus, Alireza Salarian, confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei, who recently assumed the role of supreme leader following his father's death, was injured during a lethal strike on February 28 that killed six of his family members. The attack reportedly targeted the residence of the late ayatollah and resulted in significant destruction. Salarian indicated that Khamenei, 56, was fortunate to have survived, suffering injuries to his legs, hand, and arm, and is currently believed to be hospitalized as a result.
