With a swarm of drones.. Tehran attacks an Iranian Kurdish party in Sulaymaniyah
Tehran launched a drone attack on the Iranian Kurdish party Komala in Sulaymaniyah, resulting in casualties and damages.
On Wednesday, sources reported a significant drone attack by Iran targeting the Komala Kurdistan party's sites in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. The attack reportedly involved eight drones that struck the party's positions in the Zarkouiz area, leading to the death of one of its members and injuries to others. The local security situation heightened in response to the strike, which caused both human and material losses at the targeted sites.
The Komala party, which has been a prominent political organization within the Iranian Kurdish community for nearly five decades, confirmed through an official statement that their bases were struck by Iranian drones early on Wednesday. They reported the death of a member named Omid Wesi and the injury of another fighter from the Peshmerga forces, indicating the attack's serious implications for regional security and the Kurdish political landscape.
In statements to French news agencies, Ali Ranjdari, a member of Komala's leadership, explicitly accused Iran of orchestrating this operation, underscoring the tense relationship between Iranian authorities and Kurdish opposition groups. The Komala party has evolved from its historical Marxist-Leninist roots to embrace socialist democratic and secular ideals, reflecting the complex nature of Kurdish politics within Iran and its neighboring regions.
