Incentive Travel Industry: Cooperation and Reliable Information Needed Amid Crisis
A forum in Warsaw gathered incentive travel industry representatives to address challenges posed by geopolitical tensions in the Arabian Peninsula.
On March 9th, a forum was held in Warsaw for the incentive travel and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industries, focusing on the current market situation amidst geopolitical tensions in the Arabian Peninsula. Organized by the Association of Incentive Travel Organizers (SOIT), the event underscored the importance of cooperation and reliable information in navigating through challenges faced by the sector. Key partners included SITE Poland and the Tourist Open Organization (TOO).
The forum saw participation from a diverse group of professionals including tour operators specializing in incentive travel, representatives from major airlines such as LOT, Emirates, KLM, Air France, Ethiopian Airlines, and market consolidators, alongside insurance companies and hotel networks like Accor. Notably, government representatives such as the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Ireneusz RaΕ, were also present, indicating the significant interest and support from governmental bodies in promoting the sector.
The discussions highlighted not only the threats posed by ongoing geopolitical tensions but also the need for collaborative strategies among industry stakeholders to sustain and revive the incentive travel market. This meeting reflected broader concerns within the tourism industry about adapting to external pressures while striving to deliver unique experiences to clients, ensuring the sector's resilience and relevance in a challenging landscape.
