BOI, GEN Nigeria deepen support for MSMEs
The Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria and the Bank of Industry are enhancing their collaboration to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria.
The Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria (GEN Nigeria) has reinforced its commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in collaboration with the Bank of Industry (BOI). This announcement came during a courtesy visit by GEN Nigeria to BOI, where they congratulated Mr. Oluwatoyin Edu on his recent appointment as executive director responsible for MSMEs. This meeting highlighted the growing recognition of the critical role that MSMEs play in Nigeria's economic growth and the importance of supporting them.
The partnership between GEN Nigeria and BOI aims to create greater opportunities for small businesses across the country. Part of this initiative includes capacity-building initiatives and ecosystem development programs designed to empower entrepreneurs. Moreover, the formal welcome of Mr. Edu as BOI’s representative on the GEN Nigeria Advisory Board emphasizes the strategic collaboration between these two organizations, aiming to foster an environment that nurtures entrepreneurial talent and supports enterprise growth.
This renewed commitment not only signifies the ongoing efforts to boost the Nigerian economy through entrepreneurship but also positions both institutions to leverage global networks for the benefit of local entrepreneurs. The collaboration will focus on providing access to resources, training, and potentially funding, which are essential for the growth and sustainability of MSMEs in Nigeria, illustrating the importance of partnerships in addressing the unique challenges faced by these businesses.
