Professional Volleyball Postseason Schedule Confirmed... Will There Be a Semifinal Match for Men and Women?
The schedule for the postseason of the V-League 2025-2026 season has been finalized, with key dates for playoffs and the potential for a semifinal round.
The Korea Volleyball Association (KOVO) has announced the finalized schedule for the postseason of the 2025-2026 V-League season, which includes crucial dates for the semifinals and finals. The preliminary playoff rounds are set to be held from February 24-25, while the playoffs themselves will take place from February 26 to March 31, culminating in the championship series from April 1 to April 10. A notable point of discussion is the potential for the semifinals, which only occur if the point difference between the teams finishing 3rd and 4th in the regular season is within three points.
In the men's division, both KB Insurance (55 points) and Korea Electric Power Corporation are closely vying for playoff positions with less than three points separating them from the 5th place team, Woori Card (52 points). The presence of remaining matches significantly affects the possibility of a semifinal round being held, as each team has a different number of games left. KB Insurance and Woori Card both have two remaining games, while Korea Electric has three, adding to the competitive scenario.
The womenโs division appears to be equally contentious, where teams are within striking distance of each other. Currently, Heungkuk Life (57 points) holds a slim lead over GS Caltex (51 points) and IBK Industrial Bank (51 points). The viability of the semifinal will hinge on the outcomes of the remaining matches, particularly since Heungkuk has only one game left, while GS Caltex and IBK still have multiple games to play. If they can secure crucial wins, the semifinals might become a reality for both divisions, leading into the playoffs and championship series.
