Turkey confirms energy supply stability and diversification of sources
Turkey's Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar stated that the country has stable energy supplies from various sources, without facing any current issues in securing them.
Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar reaffirmed the stability and diversification of the country's energy supplies while speaking to Turkish journalists. He emphasized that Turkey is sourcing energy from multiple avenues and currently faces no problems concerning its energy supply or security. This assurance comes during his participation at the Nuclear Energy Summit in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, where he engaged in bilateral meetings, including one with Rafael Mariano Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Bayraktar highlighted the significance of holding a summit focused on nuclear energy amidst global concerns surrounding oil and gas prices and supply security. He stated that the diversification of energy sources and routes is critical for achieving energy security. Turkey continues to invest in various forms of energy to build a more balanced energy mix, aiming to adapt to the increasing demand for electricity expected in various sectors of the economy in the coming years.
He noted that many countries are currently facing challenges in energy procurement, reflecting the global context of energy supply difficulties. Turkeyβs emphasis on diversifying energy sources and expanding its capabilities poses it as a potential key player in energy stability, especially in a geopolitically sensitive region, thereby potentially enhancing its international energy partnerships and collaboration efforts.
