Pilot Strike: Lufthansa Calls Walkout "Disproportionate"
Lufthansa criticizes impending pilot strikes as disproportionate, considering their impact on operations and addressing ongoing compensation disputes.
The pilot union Cockpit has announced strikes at Lufthansa for Thursday and Friday, significantly affecting operations at their passenger and cargo divisions. Flights to the Middle East are exempt from these strikes. Lufthansa has sharply criticized the unionβs decision to organize such immediate strikes, labeling them as disproportionate given the context of the ongoing labor negotiations. The planned strikes will occur from midnight on Thursday to 11:59 PM on Friday, impacting nearly all flights departing from German airports, although the regional subsidiary Lufthansa Cityline will only halt operations for Thursday. The union has clearly stated that repatriation and crisis flights will not be affected during this period.
