Consumer interest in electric and other eco-friendly vehicles has seen a remarkable rise, with an 85% increase in estimate requests in March compared to the same period last year, as reported by the online car purchase platform Car Lab. This surge is attributed to the escalating oil prices sparked by military actions in the Middle East, particularly following the recent attacks by the US and Israel on Iran. The requests for eco-friendly vehicles accounted for 56% of all new car estimate inquiries, outpacing traditional combustion engine vehicles for the first time. The price of gasoline and diesel has reached alarming levels, with averages soaring to between 1900 and 2000 won.
