An exhibition of post-Byzantine icons at the Foundation of Aikaterini Laskaridis in Greece celebrates its tenth anniversary with a special event on March 26, 2026.

The exhibition of post-Byzantine icons from the collection of Emiliou I. Velimezi, held at the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation since 2016, marks its tenth anniversary this year. The collection, donated by the Margaritis and Makris families, features 136 icons dating from the 15th to the 19th centuries, alongside various sketches by iconographers and liturgical items, representing a significant body of work in post-Byzantine art. To commemorate this milestone, a special event titled 'Faith and Art' will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 17:00 in the Historical Library of the Foundation. The event will include presentations by experts and collaborators from the collection, as well as a musical opening by the Greek Byzantine Choir under the direction of Lycurgos Angelopoulos. The event is free to attend and will be located at 2 Merarchias 36 & Aktis Moutsopoulou, Piraeus, with the nearest metro station being the Municipal Theatre.
