USA intensifies bombing of targets in Iran
The United States has intensified bombing operations against targets in Iran, marking the most powerful attacks since the outbreak of war.
The United States has escalated its military operations in Iran, specifically targeting Iranian military infrastructure and assets. According to a report from The Telegraph, the US Army has utilized bunker buster bombs against the Islamic regime, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stating that these recent attacks are the most powerful since the onset of hostilities. This escalation comes amid heightened tensions in the region, particularly surrounding Iran's missile production capabilities.
In an announcement, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt detailed that B-2 stealth bombers were deployed to destroy secret rocket factories in Tehran, using bombs weighing 907 kilograms. The military's actions are aimed at dismantling the infrastructure used for Iran's missile production, indicating a strategic shift in the US's approach to Iran. Additionally, last week, it was reported that B-2 bombers would be landing at the Diego Garcia airbase, located in the Chagos Archipelago, although the British Ministry of Defence has not confirmed any involvement in recent attacks against Iran.
The United States has also launched extensive attacks against Iranian mine-laying vessels, further escalting the military presence in the region. President Trump has warned Iran of unprecedented military consequences if it begins to mine the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring the potential for military confrontation and the high stakes involved as the US seeks to counter Iran's influence and military capabilities in the region.
