This humanitarian crisis has led to over 122,000 individuals currently residing in emergency shelters across the country, which are now operating with 580 facilities in total. The situation worsened dramatically in the last two days, with more than 500,000 people displaced as the conflict escalates further.

Social Affairs Minister Hanina Saijeda has announced emergency measures, including the provision of 100,000 meals daily in shelters starting Wednesday, aimed at alleviating the immediate needs of those affected. Additionally, special assistance has been designated for disadvantaged families, including a one-time payment of $100 for 6,000 families with children or youth with disabilities. This financial support will gradually extend to more families as resources permit, highlighting the urgent social services response to this crisis.

The turmoil is exacerbated by ongoing clashes between Israel and Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, with reports of retaliatory strikes from both sides. The Israeli military has targeted locations in southern Lebanon near the border, while Hezbollah claims to have launched attacks against Israeli soldiers and targets within Israel.
