The Municipality recruits third sector entities to manage 500 low-cost rental apartments

The municipality has launched a call for third sector entities to co-design and manage 500 public housing units for vulnerable individuals and families.

The Municipality of Il Giornale has published an online call for third sector entities to participate in a project aimed at managing 500 public rental housing units intended for vulnerable individuals and families. The initiative focuses on supporting those who do not qualify for public housing and lack the financial capacity to afford private rental costs. Applications for participation are open until April 27, and selected partners will help create housing solutions tailored to those in need.

The initiative seeks to provide affordable housing options, with prices capped at 75 and 55 euros per square meter for different categories of tenants. In addition to existing municipal properties, the offer includes six properties confiscated from organized crime and potentially additional units from the third sector. The municipality has also identified another 143 housing units in the suburb, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to addressing housing insecurity in the area.

By collaborating with third sector organizations, the municipality aims to not only alleviate immediate housing needs but also promote social integration and support for families facing socio-economic difficulties. This project is expected to enhance the living conditions for the most vulnerable residents, reflecting a growing recognition of the need for inclusive housing solutions in Italy’s urban areas.
