Prosecutor demands fine of 4 million won for Yoo Dong-kyu's speech criticizing President Lee
Prosecutors have demanded a fine for Yoo Dong-kyu for making a critical speech about President Lee Jae-myung during the 2022 presidential election campaign.
The prosecution has requested a fine of 4 million won for Yoo Dong-kyu, who was indicted for making a critical speech against President Lee Jae-myung, the then-presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, using an amplification device ahead of the 21st presidential election. During the court proceedings held on April 11 at the Suwon District Court's Anyang branch, the prosecutor argued for the fine, indicating that Yoo had violated election laws while making the remarks on two occasions in early April 2022. One of the speeches took place outside the Central Election Management Committee in Gwacheon, where he openly criticized President Lee, who subsequently won the election.
