On one side long queues... here a retired teacher hid 25 gas cylinders in his house
In Chhatarpur, a retired teacher was found hoarding 25 gas cylinders in his home amidst a domestic gas shortage crisis, leading to police action against black marketeers.
Amidst chaos over liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) shortages across the nation, Chhatarpur's administrative authorities have begun cracking down on black marketers. In Ward No. 3 of Vishwanath Colony, a retired teacher, Shyamlal Ahirwar, had been hoarding a large number of illegal gas cylinders at his residence. Following a tip-off, the Tahsildar and a team from the Food Department executed a raid at his home late at night with local police support.
During the operation, the administrative team recovered a total of 25 domestic gas cylinders from Ahirwar's home. Among these, three were completely filled with gas while the remaining 22 were empty. Authorities are concerned that these cylinders were intended for use in black market sales at inflated prices. As a result of this operation, the cylinders were seized on the spot by the officials from the food and revenue departments, indicating a strong stance against illegal hoarding practices during a time of public need.
This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by consumers amid a gas supply crisis. Long queues for gas cylinders are creating distress for domestic consumers, while opportunistic individuals exploit the situation for personal gain. The swift action by local authorities aims to deter such practices and ensure that essential supplies are fairly distributed to the public during a time of crisis.
