Horsham man charged over triple-fatal crash on Western Highway near Ararat
A 63-year-old man from Horsham has been charged with dangerous driving causing death following a crash on the Western Highway that resulted in the fatalities of three individuals.
In a tragic incident on the Western Highway near Ararat, a regional Victorian man has been charged in connection to a crash that led to the deaths of three people. The accident occurred around 12:30 PM on May 28, 2025, involving two cars, a B-double truck, and two smaller trucks at the intersection of Thomas Road. The crash claimed the lives of a 49-year-old man and his 24-year-old female passenger from Lyndhurst and Clyde North respectively, while others involved in the accident suffered injuries requiring hospitalization.
Emergency services faced challenges at the scene, where multiple vehicles were involved. In addition to the fatalities, three other individuals, including a 63-year-old man from Horsham, an 83-year-old woman from Geelong, and a 52-year-old man from Corio, were taken to the hospital for medical care. The driver of a Toyota Kluger, a 65-year-old man from South Australia, was also pronounced dead following the wreck.
