After battling flames for 35 hours, the Military Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro initiated the overhaul of an extensive fire that affected a motorcycle store in Ramos, located in the North Zone of the city. The firefighters focused on cooling down the structure to prevent the reignition of new flames. At the end of the day, around 50 firefighters from 12 different units were on-site with the support of 18 vehicles.
Throughout the day, drones equipped with thermal cameras were deployed to monitor hot spots, ensuring the strategic use of resources as they worked on containing the fire. The fire had reached the warehouse of the company Motocriss in Ramos and persisted into the early hours of Tuesday, requiring continuous attention throughout the morning. The intense efforts reflected an organized response from the city's fire services to manage the significant incident effectively.
According to the Municipal Civil Defense, approximately 20 nearby residences will require structural assessments following the fire, although this figure is preliminary.
